Much Ado About Nothing | Oct. 31 – Nov. 3 and Nov. 7 – Nov. 10
What is the chance of a relationship between William Shakespeare and the Mob? Not much. After all, what is the chance of a hardened, hired hit man falling in love? Not much. What chance would a couple have for happiness if the history of their relationship was one of disrespect, insult and rivalry? Not much. What is the chance of three mature gang members being completely hoodwinked by an obvious set up? Not much. What would you think of a young man who would literally embarrass his fiancee to death on her wedding day? Not much. So you see, not much links Shakespeare and the Mob . . . unless … you see The Louisiana Tech Theatre Department’s production of “Much Ado About Nothing” at the Stone Theatre this fall.

Opera Workshop | Jan. 16 – 19
Travel from the old American west to the far east as the Opera Workshop cast highlights some of the most memorable moments in opera and musical theater. Selections include excerpts from Oklahoma!, The Ballad of Baby Doe, Big River, Miss Saigon, The Mikado and Land of Smiles.

Guided Tour | Feb. 13 – 16 and Feb. 20 – 23
Don’t miss Peter Snoad’s riveting play Guided Tour. Snoad is the winner of the first Arthur W. Stone National Playwriting Award. Guided Tour is the story of Joe Bell, whose popular tours of the Gilded Age mansion, Elmwood Hall, in Rhode Island came to an abrupt end when the mansion burned down 14 years ago. We meet Bell in prison where he’s still serving time for a Civil Rightsera conspiracy. Susanna Hatch, a young law student, interviews Bell, renowned for his remarkably learned showmanship, in an attempt to clear his name. Her conversations with Bell, interspersed with poignant and sometimes haunting flashbacks, explore emotional terrain dangerous to both of them and reveal the terrible price Bell might have paid for love, loyalty and silence.

Sweet Charity | April 23 – 26
The famous Bob Fosse production, Sweet Charity is the story of a loveable young dancer
‘Charity’. Charity works at a dance club where she has seen only the dark side of life through bad relationships. One day she meets Oscar and believes her luck has changed. When things turn sour, Charity stays sweet and hopeful that someday her ideals will materialize. Sweet Charity is known for such wonderful musical theater songs as “Big Spender” and “If My Friends Could See Me Now.”

Vanities | May 6 – 8
Vanities is a laugh-out-loud comedy about the growth of a friendship among three small town women coming of age in the 1960s and 70s. It’s an astute, snapshot-sharp look at their witty dialogue that keeps the audience laughing throughout the production!
