Audition Requirements

Voice Study | Choir | Vocal-Choral Scholarships

Voice Study:

Non-Music Majors: call 318-257-4200 to schedule audition. The auditions are to determine placement either in Class Voice or in Private Voice lessons. The audition will include an interview with the voice faculty.

Prepare a piece that demonstrates your BEST technical and musical ability. Your selection may be a simple folk song, hymn, etc., or an art song.

 

Music Majors: call 318-257-4200 to schedule audition. The auditions are to determine placement either in Class Voice or in Private Voice lessons. The audition will include an interview with the voice faculty.

Prepare pieces that demonstrate your BEST technical and musical ability. Your selection should be classical in nature, such as an art song in Italian, French, German, or Spanish, or, if an art song is not prepared, sing a simple folk song, hymn, etc.

Choir:

All interested persons:: call 318-257-4200 to schedule audition. This audition is to determine the suitability of the voice in choral ensembles and placement in the proper section.

Prepare a piece that demonstrates your BEST technical and musical ability. Your selection may be a simple folk song, hymn, etc., or an art song.

Vocal/Choral Scholarships:

All interested persons: . Call 318-257-4200 to schedule an audition. This may be in conjunction with one of the above auditions. Same general suggestions apply. You will be heard by the voice faculty.
