PRAXIS I
All students must successfully complete the PRAXIS I exam to be eligible for
admittance into the Teaching Program of the College of Education.
Music Education majors should successfully complete the
PRAXIS I exam by the end of their second year of study.
Qualifying
PRAXIS I Scores:
Reading (PPST:R) - 174
Writing (PPST:W) - 173
Math (PPST:M) - 172
PRAXIS II
The PRAXIS II consists of the Principles of
Learning and Teaching (PLT) exam AND the Specialty
Area exam (0113).
Students may choose Principles of Learning and Teaching (PLT) K
- 6 (0522) or Principles of Learning and Teaching (PLT) 7
- 12 (0524) depending upon their preference.
All Music Education Majors are required to take the
Music: Content Knowledge (0113)
Specialty Area Test.
Music Education majors MUST successfully complete BOTH
parts of the PRAXIS II exam to be eligible to student
teach.
