    Named Awards in Music

• Merritt Performing Arts Scholarship - Student must be of Sophomore standing or higher and must carry a GPA of 2.75 or higher. Must be active in the performing arts and SPA musicals. Selection is by application and interview.
  
• Verne E. Irvine Scholarship - Student must be a Performing Arts major of Junior standing and carry a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Selection is by application and interview.
  
• Virginia Thompson Woman's Department Club Music Scholarship - Student must carry a GPA of 2.75 or higher. Selection is by application and interview by committee.
  
• James E. Smith Band Scholarship - Student must have been active in the Louisiana Tech Band program for two years and carry a GPA of at least 2.75. Selection is by application.
• Mabel Anne Walker Harper Piano Scholarship - This scholarship is awarded to an incoming freshman BM Piano major. Student must keep a GPA of 2.75 or higher. Selection is by application, audition, and interview.
• Ben Laney Memorial Scholarship - Available to a vocal performance major. The Student must carry a GPA of 2.75 or higher. Selection is by audition, application, and interview.
  
• John Simoneaux Memorial Endowed Scholarship - This scholarship is awarded to a junior or senior Guitar major who maintains a minimum 2.5 GPA.
• Caroyln A. Evans Wind Ensemble Award - Awarded to a member of the top concert band for outstanding contributions with preference given to members of Tau Beta Sigma.

    Band Service Awards

• Service Awards - Available to qualified members of the Tech Band of Pride who participate in the Marching Band, Hoop Troop, and Concert Bands. Full time students must participate in the Marching Band of Pride for credit in the fall quarter to be eligible for the winter and spring quarter awards. Selection is by application and audition.
• Band Staff Service Award - Available to selected band members who have been in the Tech Band at least one year. Award is by nomination and interview by the band faculty.
• Jazz Ensemble Service Award - Available to students who audition into the membership of the University Jazz Ensemble.
• Hoop Troop Basketball Band Service Award - Available to selected full time members of the Marching Band of Pride who are selected to the membership of the Hoop Troop Basketball Band.
• Band Auxiliary Service Award - Available to full time students who audition into the membership of the Marching Band of Pride Drum Line or Flag Corps. Choir Service Awards.

    Choir Awards

• Service Awards - Available to qualified members of the Chamber Singers and Concert Choir. Full time students must participate in a chorus for credit in the fall quarter to be eligible for the winter and spring quarter awards. Selection is by application and audition.
• Choral Staff Service Award - Available to selected chorus members who have been in the choral program at least one year. Award is by nomination and interview by the choral faculty.
  

  Performing Arts Out of State Fee Waivers

• Available to qualified students who participate in the performing ensembles or qualifying performances of the School of the Performing Arts. Incoming freshmen must have a high school GPA of at least 2.5 and transfer students must have at least 2.5 GPA based on at least 24 hours of college credit. Students must maintain participation as a full time student and a GPA of at least 2.0 to continue the waiver for succeeding quarters.

  Performing Arts Dorm Waivers

• There is a limited number of full or partial dorm scholarships available to all Performing Arts majors. Students must maintain a GPA of at least 2.5. Selection is by application to the Coordinator of Music through the respective qualifying area of performance.
